چکیده

In this study, a glass ceramic with a nominal composition 58ZnO:4Bi₂O₃:4WO₃:33.3B₂O₃ was synthesized by melt quenching technique. A gas sensor was then manufactured using a ZnO sol-gel phase as a permanent binder of the glass-ceramic to an alumina substrate having interdigitated electrodes. The film sensitivity towards humidity, NH₃, H₂ and NO₂ was studied at different temperatures. X-ray diffraction technique (XRD), field emission- scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) and differential thermal analysis (DTA) were used to characterize the prepared material. Though the response in the sub-ppm NO₂ concentration range was not explored, the observed results are comparable with the latest found in the literature.

Characterization of ZnO Nanobelt-Based Gas Sensor for H2, NO2, and Hydrocarbon Sensing

A conductometric H2, NO2, and hydrocarbon gas sensor based on single-crystalline zinc oxide (ZnO) nanobelts has been developed. The nanobelt sensitive layer was deposited using a radio frequency (RF) magnetron sputterer. The microcharacterization study reveals that the nanobelts have a single crystal hexagonal structure with average thickness and width of about 10 and 50 nm, respectively. The s...

H2 and NO2 Gas Sensors with ZnO Nanobelt Layer on 36° LiTaO3 and 64° LiNbO3 SAW Transducers

Single crystal nanobelts of ZnO were synthesized and deposited onto 36° YX LiTaO3 and 64° YX LiNbO3 Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW) devices for gas sensing applications. Sensor response, defined as the change in resonant frequency, was measured for H2 and NO2 between 20 and 200°C. Measured sensor responses were 3.5 kHz towards 10 ppm NO2 for a 64° LiNbO3 SAW transducer operating at 160°C and 3 kHz ...

The Assessment for Sensitivity of a NO2 Gas Sensor with ZnGa2O4/ZnO Core-Shell Nanowires—a Novel Approach

The application of novel core-shell nanowires composed of ZnGa2O4/ZnO to improve the sensitivity of NO2 gas sensors is demonstrated in this study. The growth of ZnGa2O4/ZnO core-shell nanowires is performed by reactive evaporation on patterned ZnO:Ga/SiO2/Si templates at 600 °C. This is to form the homogeneous structure of the sensors investigated in this report to assess their sensitivity in t...

Sensitive, Selective, and Fast Detection of ppb-Level H2S Gas Boosted by ZnO-CuO Mesocrystal

ZnO-CuO mesocrystal was prepared via topotactic transformation using one-step direct annealing of aqueous precursor solution and assembled into a H2S sensor. The ZnO-CuO mesocrystal-based sensor possesses good linearity and high sensitivity in the low-concentration range (10-200 ppb). Compared to pure CuO, the as-prepared ZnO-CuO mesocrystal sensor exhibited superior H2S sensing performance wit...
